Doctor Strange: Damnation #1 begins a dark supernatural Marvel event in the aftermath of Secret Empire. Doctor Strange attempts to restore Las Vegas, a city destroyed during the earlier conflict, but his attempt to bring the city back from destruction has an unintended and catastrophic consequence.

By resurrecting Las Vegas, Strange inadvertently creates an opportunity for Mephisto, the Lord of Hell, to enter the world and claim the city as his own. Mephisto transforms the restored Las Vegas into a supernatural nightmare centered around the sinister Hotel Inferno, turning Sin City into his personal domain.

Doctor Strange soon realizes that defeating Mephisto will require far more than mystical power. Heroes from across the Marvel Universe—including Blade, Ghost Rider, Iron Fist and Moon Knight—become involved as the demonic threat expands.

The issue sets up a battle between Earth's heroes and one of Marvel's most dangerous supernatural villains, combining magic, demons, Hell, resurrection, horror and superhero action.
