Fantastic Four #25 — Mark Brooks Chadwick Boseman Tribute Cover (2020)

Fantastic Four #25 (2020) is a Marvel Comics milestone issue from the sixth series, carrying legacy numbering #670. It is written by Dan Slott, with interior artwork by R.B. Silva, Paco Medina and Will Robson, and colors by Jesus Aburtov and Marcio Menyz. The regular cover is illustrated, inked and colored by Mark Brooks.

The cover is particularly notable as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the actor who portrayed T'Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A memorial banner at the top reads “REST IN POWER CHADWICK BOSEMAN 1976–2020.” The artwork presents the Fantastic Four in their classic blue costumes, with Human Torch engulfed in flames, Mister Fantastic positioned prominently in the center, Invisible Woman in the foreground, and The Thing below. She-Hulk and other figures are also incorporated into the composition.

The issue itself begins a new era for Marvel's First Family, introducing new villains, new costumes and a major change to the team's status quo. The main story, “There Shall Come a Reckoning,” involves a mysterious alien warrior, the Helmsman, Doctor Doom and a threat connected to a long-buried discovery of Reed Richards.

The issue also contains a dedicated “Rest in Power Chadwick Boseman” tribute piece, with text by Ta-Nehisi Coates and artwork by Brian Stelfreeze, as well as a separate Chadwick Boseman tribute illustration credited to Joe Quesada, Danny Miki and Richard Isanove.
