Ghost Rider #1 — Aaron Kuder Cover (2019) | The King of Hell, Part One

Ghost Rider #1 (2019) launches a new Marvel Comics series with Johnny Blaze as the King of Hell and Danny Ketch returning as the Ghost Rider on Earth. The cover by Aaron Kuder features Ghost Rider riding his flaming motorcycle through a towering urban landscape, surrounded by enormous waves of supernatural fire.

Ghost Rider's flaming skull and black leather outfit dominate the center of the composition as he swings a chain overhead. A massive chain cuts diagonally across the foreground, while skyscrapers recede dramatically into the background. The highly saturated yellow, orange, red, purple, and black artwork gives the cover an explosive supernatural atmosphere. The large hand-painted GHOST RIDER logo fills the upper portion, with LGY #237 identifying the legacy numbering.

The issue begins “The King of Hell, Part One” and introduces the new status quo in which Johnny Blaze rules and guards Hell while Danny Ketch is pulled back into his role as Earth's Spirit of Vengeance.
