Invincible Iron Man #1 — Valerio Schiti Young Guns Variant Cover (2015)

Invincible Iron Man #1 launches Marvel's 2015 Invincible Iron Man series, written by Brian Michael Bendis with interior artwork by David Marquez and colors by Justin Ponsor. Marvel describes the series as a new beginning for Tony Stark following Secret Wars, introducing new armor, supporting characters, villains and a new direction for Iron Man.

This edition features the Valerio Schiti Young Guns Variant Cover. The cover presents Iron Man/Tony Stark in the center, floating or descending vertically in his red-and-gold armor with both arms extended. His armor is dramatically illuminated, with the glowing arc reactor prominently visible on his chest and the helmet's eyes shining brightly.

Around Iron Man, numerous damaged and defeated armored figures and mechanical components are scattered across the lower portion of the artwork. A brilliant white-blue burst of energy beneath him creates the impression that Iron Man has just emerged from or is hovering above a violent technological impact. The background combines dark black and gray areas with a cool blue-green central glow, while stylized circuit-board patterns frame the composition and reinforce the technological theme.

The oversized INVINCIBLE IRON MAN logo dominates the top of the cover in large white lettering. Marvel branding and the 001 Variant Edition designation appear at the bottom alongside the Direct Edition barcode.

The first issue begins Tony Stark's post-Secret Wars adventure with a new armor system and a new supporting cast. Tony also becomes involved with Madame Masque and Doctor Doom, while the story begins a mystery surrounding Tony's biological parents.
