Star Wars: Lando #1 — Blank Cover Variant Edition (2015)

Star Wars: Lando #1 introduces Marvel's first solo comic-book series centered on Lando Calrissian, set before his involvement with the Rebellion and before he became the administrator of Cloud City.

This collectible Blank Cover Variant Edition features a predominantly white cover designed to provide a large open area for custom artwork, sketches, signatures and creator commissions. The upper portion retains the official STAR WARS branding, Marvel logo and 001 Variant Edition designation, while the center of the cover is intentionally left blank.

The photographed copy has a prominent hand-rendered “LANDO” treatment across the front cover, giving the otherwise minimal blank cover a distinctive customized appearance. This makes the copy particularly interesting for collectors of blank-cover comics, convention sketches, autographs and personalized comic-book artwork.

The original series was written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Alex Maleev, with Lobot accompanying Lando on a dangerous scheme to steal a valuable ship. The series consists of five issues.
