Sword Master #3 (2019) – Gunji Cover – Gods of War!

Sword Master #3 continues the story of Lin Lie, Marvel's young Chinese superhero and wielder of the mysterious Sword of Fu Xi.

The issue opens with “The Ancient War,” taking readers into the terrifying history surrounding Lin Lie and his magical sword. Sword Master finds himself facing a mysterious warrior woman in the present while simultaneously confronting a horrifying battle against Chiyou, the ancient God of War. The line between reality, nightmare and forgotten history begins to blur as the secrets behind Lin Lie's terrifying blade are revealed.

The second story, “Sword Master & Shang-Chi: Master Class – Part Three,” brings Lin Lie and Shang-Chi together in New York. Their very different approaches to combat and magic lead them into another confrontation involving a God of War, potentially triggering a major shift in power among Marvel's pantheons.

This issue combines Chinese mythology, martial arts, supernatural fantasy, ancient gods and Marvel superhero action, making it an important early chapter in Lin Lie's development as Sword Master.
