Thor: God of Thunder #14 is a Marvel Comics issue from the 2013 series, written by Jason Aaron with artwork by Ron Garney and colors by Ive Svorcina. It was released on October 9, 2013, with a December 2013 cover date. The issue carries the legacy number Thor #657.
Titled “The Accursed: Part Two of Five — The League of Realms,” the issue continues the storyline surrounding Malekith the Accursed, who has returned and is unleashing a bloody campaign across the Nine Realms. Thor gathers a highly unusual group of warriors to pursue him, forming the League of Realms.
The cover depicts Thor riding a massive red, horned beast through a chaotic battlefield filled with monsters and warriors. Thor is positioned prominently near the upper center, raising Mjolnir in one hand while gripping a long weapon or strap with the other. His muscular figure, winged helmet and flowing red cape emphasize the heroic, mythological tone of the artwork.
The enormous beast beneath Thor dominates the center of the composition, with large curved horns, a snarling face and sharp teeth. Numerous fantastical creatures and armored warriors surround it, creating a sense of a massive supernatural battle. The pale blue sky and clouds contrast with the vivid red, orange and purple tones of the monsters and armor.
The large THOR: GOD OF THUNDER logo occupies the upper portion of the cover, while the headline “THE ACCURSED: PART TWO” appears above it. The bottom of the cover identifies Aaron, Garney and Svorcina, while the barcode confirms the Direct Edition.
The story introduces the League of Realms, including Thor, Sif, Volstagg, Fandral, Hogun and new allies such as Sir Ivory Honeyshot, Screwbeard, Ud the Troll, Oggy/Oggmunder and Lady Waziria. Their goal is to stop Malekith after his brutal campaign against the Dark Elves.
