Thor: Whosoever Wields This Hammer #1 is a Marvel Comics one-shot combining a newly produced framing sequence with remastered classic Thor stories. The issue credits Christos Gage, Stan Lee and Larry Lieber as writers, with artwork from Marco Torricelli and Jack Kirby.
The cover features Thor Odinson prominently in his classic costume, wearing his distinctive winged helmet, silver chest discs, blue-and-black armor, black boots and flowing red cape. He holds Mjolnir while brilliant white-blue lightning arcs around the hammer and across the lower-left portion of the composition.
Behind Thor is a large, ghostly blue-toned image of the thunder god, creating a layered supernatural effect. The background incorporates ancient, stone-like imagery and architectural details, while the lower portion is filled with rubble and skeletal remains, giving the scene a dramatic mythological atmosphere.
The oversized metallic THOR logo dominates the upper portion of the cover, while “THE TRUTH OF HISTORY” appears across the bottom. The upper-left corner identifies the book as a Marvel One-Shot and lists Alan Davis, Mark Farmer and Rob Schwager on the cover design shown in the supplied image; however, the issue's documented published cover credits are Tom Raney and Frank D'Armata.
The issue reprints material from classic Journey into Mystery stories, including “The Stone Men from Saturn!”, “The Mighty Thor vs. the Executioner” and “The Vengeance of Loki!”, alongside an all-new framing sequence by Christos Gage and Marco Torricelli.
